Priscilla T. Limehouse, D.V.M., C.V.A., F.A.A.V.A., is a 1980 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Limehouse practiced Western veterinary medicine and surgery for several years as director of the Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital in Denver, Colorado. To complement her veterinary degree, Dr. Limehouse is a certified massage therapist, trained in conventional, myofascial and deep tissue massage, and is certified in Veterinary Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association as well. She moved to California in 1992 to join the Limehouse Veterinary Clinic.
Certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist through IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) since 1992, Dr. Limehouse served as Chairperson of the Acupuncture Case Review Committee, and as a member of the IVAS Examination Committee. She is one of the founding members, and past President, of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, is recognized as a prominent teacher and lecturer both nationally and internationally, and has co-authored chapters on TCM-based acupuncture in two recent veterinary texts.
She is a member of AVMA, California Veterinary Medical Association, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, AVAR (Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights), IVAS, AAVA, and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She serves as a consultant to the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), on the Alternative Medicine board.
In addition to her veterinary training, Dr. Limehouse spent 3 years studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at YoSan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica, California, where she received intensive training in acupuncture, tuina (TCM-based musculoskeletal manipulation) and the use of Chinese herbal formulas.
